Nathaniel Patrick Delemarre was shot on 21 October 2016 during a raid on an ISIS compound outside of Jalalabad, Afghanistan.  Nate was hit while he was attempting to render aid to his teammate Brain Hoke who had been wounded by militants occupying the compound.  Nate departed his position of safety and moved to Brian, when he was mortally wounded. Nate was medevaced from the firefight but sadly passed away a few days later on 24 October 2016.  Nate, a former Marine, described by one friend as "a scrappy academic", had a master's degree in National Security Studies, had previously served...

Brian Ray Hoke was killed on 21 October 2016 while engaged in direct combat with ISIS militants outside Jalalabad, Afghanistan.  Brian, a former SEAL, a multitalented renaissance man; he could skydive, paint an impressionist combat image, ride a motorcycle, play the violin, and drink a martini (or several) with the same ease and grace that he would plan and conduct a combat operation.  A loving father, Brian lived his life large and cared deeply for his family and those around him.  Along with Christy, he built and nurtured resiliency programs that have saved lives from the invisible wounds of war. ...

Army SSG Jeremie Border was killed September 1, 2012 of wounds caused by small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in the Afghanistan province of Ghazni. Jeremie graduated from Mesquite High School in 2002, being known as a standout football player and member of the 2001 state championship team which recorded a perfect 15-0 season. He continued his education at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas where he played college football for four years, was a member of the Servant Leadership program and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. MSgt. John Hayes (Courtesy of the Force Recon Association)Died: July 8, 2009Master Sergeant John Hayes was killed in action on 8 July by a suspected pressure plate IED in Afghanistan.  They were traveling as part of a four vehicle movement returning to FB Fiddlers Green. Also killed was Lance Corporal Roger Hager, an Armorer attached to Alpha Company.  Both Marines were killed instantly. MSgt.
